The Importance of Community Coalition to Prevent Dengue Fever: An Ethnographic Study in Sidoluhur Village, Sleman District, Yogyakarta Special Region

Dengue fever is an emerging pandemic-prone viral disease in many parts of the world also in Indonesia. Java Island contributed about 71% of all cases occurring in the country. Sleman District represented nearly 30% of total infections in Yogyakarta Province. Godean sub-district contributes 89 cases in 2013 and most of them were come from Sidoluhur village. Instead of community activities Dengue cases are increasing every year. Vector control is one way to control it. This research was tried to explore how community coalition can prevent Dengue fever cases and how Dengue vector can be controlled by engaging community.
